Frequently asked questions
What is a good viral coefficient for a pre-launch waitlist?
There is no universal number, and this tool does not assume one. A K below 1 means the loop amplifies your organic traffic rather than replacing it, which is the normal case for waitlists. The useful comparison is your own K before and after you change the reward, the share copy or the leaderboard.
Why does the projected list stop growing even though K is above zero?
With K under 1, each cohort of referrals is smaller than the one before it, so the loop settles into a steady multiple of your organic signups. The long-run multiplier is roughly 1 divided by (1 minus K), which is why moving K from 0.2 to 0.5 matters more than it looks.
Should I count everyone who copies their referral link as a referrer?
No. Use the percent of signups whose link produced at least one signup, otherwise the share rate is inflated and the projection will be too optimistic.
